I hope it doesn't suck.

Finally 😍
is the colorspace fixed?
Hope this will resolve the issue I have with one of my devices where the remote is unresponsive
Anyone get the update yet? Wondering if the Shield processes HDR content properly on non-HDR supported 4K TVs in Oreo?
I know in the current version my 4K HDR content looks washed out on my non-HDR 4K TV. I remember reading that a possible fix for this would be the Oreo update.
No update available for me yet so can't check myself.
So I got the update finally.
While I am not a huge fan of the new UI, I imagine I will get used to it over time.
At least it seems to be pretty customizable.
However, does anyone know how to create a "Games" channel similar to how it used to look on the old leanback launcher?
This is my current:

I want to include another "channel" as it's called which includes all my installed games.
I know you can go to Apps and scroll down to Games, but I'd like to see them on the home screen.
Is there any way to block the update notification by disabling some of the services or what ever?
I really don't want to update because I dislike the new UI a lot.
Edit: I am just asking a question here guys. You can obviously downvote me, that's fine but it would be cool not to because then my question gets burried and someone may not see my question who could be able to answer it sigh
Anybody actually get the ota yet?
Hmmm the change log doesnt seem all that to be honest, no mention of the clour space stuff or anything else people on the nvidia forum have been pushing for. im also pretty sure most of whats listed , especially the google assistant bit, is US only so useless the other 90% of the world
So, I’m in the market for an android TV (coming from Apple TV so I’m pretty uneducated)
I take it the shield is the quickest updated device out there? There isn’t a “pixel TV”?
Anyone got it actually? I wonder if kodi 18 beta actually works on oreo? That's my daily use.. Otherwise big no no for me.
TV App Repo is not compatible with Oreo.
I have a lot of APKs with links added from this. After I add Oreo, are they still going to work on my homescreen?
Can anyone confirm what is the lowest Youtube version (system) that comes with the latest update, I use Hopwatch which works best with any version lower than 2.0.0?
If its a newer version I can't see myself updating, also I wonder if sideloading the old launcher is possible? I prefer it. (I have 3 nexus players and hate the new UI).
Furthermore surely the old launcher can simply be resigned and sideloaded on?
I got my update today. I was taken aback by the new UI as I hadn't read about it yet. After playing with it and customizing it for about 20 minutes, I gotta say, I really like it. It highlights the apps and content I view most often while still still retaining easy access to ones I use less often.
The old interface was clunky by comparison, sure it worked, but this new UI is really optimized.
It doesn't matter what you do, there are always going to be some people who hate change, and it's usually only these complainers whose opinion you see en masse.
I still don't have this update... Am I the only one? Lol
I can move my plex server back to the shield and let my PC sleep!
So far I'm disappointed but maybe I'm missing something. The home stuff doesn't seem very customizable. For example YouTube doesn't let you add anything to play next and all it has for options is to show "what's popular" etc. which is all completely useless. And none of the apps I use much even support that new home screen stuff.
Has anyone else tried the new Dish Anywhere app? Great except the resolution of what's playing seems 480p at best and I have the video quality setting on high (I wish it would say what resolution that's supposed to be or the bitrate). Anyone else have better results with the Dish Anywhere app?
Is the wireless adapter they mention for the Dualshock 4 the official adapter? I don't see why it wouldn't be, but I figured I'd ask to see if there's a cheaper way.
Does anyone know if the NHK World tv app, PBS, or TuneIn radio support the new launcher and have channels? Also can anyone send a screenshot of what kodi alpha support looks like?
Signed up for the Preview Program and still no update yet :/
I have to say that having the Oreo GUI on my Nexus for a long time has not made me like it more. I am hopeful that Nvidia will be adding their own flair to the Leanback experience but I have to say I may avoid it for a bit since this is the last of the OG GUI I will ever see.
Pretty please r/Sony. Please roll this out to 2017/18 TVs.
Anything we can do to get the update or do we just have to wait for the staged rollout to finally get to me?
No automatic resolution switching like the Fire TV has?
Anyone having any luck with tv app repo creating new shortcuts since updating? It runs, I allowed it to install unsigned packages but it's not actually doing anything. Thankfully already created shortcuts still work and sideload launcher as well for now. Are there other options for creating launcher icons for non tv apps that people are having luck with?
Slightly off topic but how reliable is the downgrade for the Mi Box from 1560 Beta to MM? Since that it looks increasingly likely that the 'Oreo release11!' will turn out the Nougat release (i.e. won't happen, might get some crappy leaked beta etc).
They show Netflix supporting the launcher in the screenshots. Wonder when that'll happen?
Is this a forced update? Can I stay on nougat if I want to?
This doesn't sound good. All pictures I've seen of the new launcher look terrible.
Let the ugliness prevail.
People are going to be SOO disappointed....
Meanwhile at Xiaomi.
The one guy working on it: Boss, we are ready to release the update, should we?
Boss: No, We need to test it for few more months, meanwhile release another Nougat beta.
The one guy working on it: OK boss.
