Recently installed these and every time we use our shield, within a minute we get a "hgtv has stopped" and "diy has stopped" despite not opening them.
Any idea what's up with those? They in beta or something?

Keep submitting reports when they pop up, they'll fix it eventually. I have the same problem.
Like many apps, they unfortunately open automatically and run in the background. They don't stream the video in the background, but just the app is open.
