Remember back in December/January when Amazon uploaded the app to the Play Store? Everyone was saying it was finally coming.
But I still see it as incompatible with my Nexus Player, and didn't hear any news since then.
Is this going to happen or not?

Does fire TV still not have YouTube?
It has been on my X900E since I brought it.
I can't get the new APK to work on a MiBox. It loads fine, then it refuses to play any videos aside from trailers. I'd love to know how people are getting this to work.

You can side load it for Nexus Player. Works fine for now.
So I've actually gotten it to work on my leeco tv, but the uhd videos do not work. I get insufficient bandwidth message. 1080p works fine tho
The same reason why Amazon Fire TV stick Fire TV box does not have YouTube or YouTube TV.
In the eyes of Amazon if you want to watch Amazon Prime video you will buy a Fire TV stick or fire box.
In the eyes of Google if you want to watch YouTube or YouTube TV you must purchase a Google device or Android TV box .
Its a pain in the ass. The APKs I have put on my mibox do not play nice. one episode will usually play ok, but next one never will. and often see weird colors and pixelation as well.
It'll probably start working right about when YouTube starts working right on FireTVs. That is to say, shortly after hell freezes over.
I think you'd have a better chance getting Apple Music's subscription service on a Blackberry first.
The version of Prime Video on the Nvidia Shield switched to the play store version during the oreo update. It's possible they just added it to the play store for easier updates of boxes that already have it installed
