In Hungary last year they said on facebook, they are working on it. In this year they say there will be no support for AndroidTV.
In other easter-europian country they still saying they are working on it. And also somehow an apk "HBO GO_0.0.59.apk" was leaked out ( https://miuipolska.pl/forum/topic/30910-aplikacja-hbo-go/ ) and I was successfully able to use that on my MiBox. https://prohardver.hu/dl/upc/2018-03/23987_screenshot_20180311-194749.jpg
But it has been disabled after few weeks. So it won't work any more. Also HBO direct subscription (without third party cable provider) was not supported in that app (like it is not supported on LG WebOS also).
So there is no public information about any proggress, but they already have an unreleased app, that would work for most of the subscribers.
For unofficial way, there is an addon for Kodi Leila beta that a kind of working, just not that nice like the official app.
weird that i got a reply on my comment from such a long time. well infact i also made contact with HBO Bulgaria and they told me that they have a working HBO GO Android TV app which is tested and ready to be released as soon as they get an approval from higher-ups, which they said should happen very soon. i hope its not bogus and we do indeed get a proper ATV app till the end of the year.

Last i wrote to HBO Bulgaria they told me they are working on it and it will eventually come out at some point. This was months ago... so!?!
Not soon. HBO Nordic said that 2 years ago too. Don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon.
