Looking for androidTV os boxes

by TheAtheistOtaku

so im currently looking for a android tv box for my tvs and im having trouble finding something reasonably priced. i bought a matricom "android tv" box thinking it would have the android tv os on it, but all it had was a shitty android phone version shittily converted.

Looking through amazon and it seems thats the case for all of the "android tv" boxes listed there. i also know theres the nvidia sheild but im not shelling out 200$ per tv. anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah what guy above me said. You can get them at walmart $70 a pop at Walmart Mibox. For your living room, don't go cheap buy shield if you can. Want the best experience for movies and shows. If money issue roll with mibox in living room as well. Don't buy anything else, but Shield and Mibox, Nexus Player. Rest mostly garbage. Stay away from firestick inless you like hot garbage. Firestick good for kids or guests rooms.

There's two devices that are readily available. In fact, they're both listed in the sidebar of this subreddit.

I had 2 miboxes that had the Netflix problem. I replaced them both with the "mecool m8s pro L" and haven't looked back. It's full android tv os. The only thing you lose is the ability to cast but it has other ways to provide that functionality. Shipped to Canada the boxes were ~$100 CAD and arrived in about 2 weeks via gearbest.com.

Shield, Nexus Player, or the Mi Box are your only options. (And beware of the Mi Box, because it's a generic product name that they apply to knock off Android devices in emerging markets.)
