Hi folks. I'm currently just using a firestick, and am looking to get something better. I just learned about Android tv boxes, and there's soooo many available, I need some advice.
My primary uses would be tv/movie streaming and certain games. For tv streaming, I currently use TerrariumTV on my firestick, and plan on staying with that.
As for games, I am not a hardcore gamer. But I would like to run some emulators (PS1, Dreamcast, etc). And my favorite game of all time which I REALLY want to be able to play is "Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee", which I played on the original Xbox and is now available for Android. I'm just learning about these boxes, and noticed that alot of the cheaper ones use an Amlogic cpu. But on the play store, the description for Oddworld says "PLEASE NOTE: Broadcom and Amlogic devices NOT SUPPORTED!", so I'm guessing I should avoid those.
What are some good boxes I should consider? I read that the Nvidia Shield is considered the best, but at $200 that's out of my price range. I'd like to stay in the $60 range. I saw one online called the Beelink GS1, which uses the Allwinner H6 (quad-core Cortex-A53 processor), and I can get one for around $65. Is that a good choice for my needs?
Thanks in advance!!!
full list of devices is HERE . Most ppl here keep conveniently forgetting it. See what's available to get for you
Most TV's use the Mediatek chipset. If you decide for a generic android box, check them out on Freaktab forums
