This might seem crazy but I'm pretty sure my TV caused the fire department to show up this morning

by omni_whore

I woke up this morning to a SUPER loud alarm coming from my TV. Not sure if it was coming from the speakers I have connected or from the TV itself, but when I hit mute on the TV remote it stopped the alarm. The alarm was like a beeping emergency sound. So then just like 2 minutes after that a fire truck came into the parking lot with its sirens blasting and everything, but it just drove around in circles for a bit and then left. I think they came because of that alarm going off.

The TV is a sony XBR-65X900E. I did some searching and it looks like there's other people who had a similar thing happen, but it seems to be samsung phones that are doing it to them.

There's a bunch of people here mentioning it: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S8-Questions-and-Answers/Smoke-detector-like-beeping-from-phone/td-p/115752

Has anyone else experienced the alarm like that or know about it?

Your Phone and TV is possessed. Drown both of them in Holy water and problem solved.

Well I doubt they were contacted by the TV or your phone. It's hard to tell. Typically 911 will attempt to give a call back, but 911 doesn't show up in most call logs (to help those in hostage situations). It was most likely a neighbor who called it in.

As for the actual cause of it. I'm not sure. Can you check your Google activity log? (Go into your phones assistant app, then in the three line menu there's your activity option. You can also go to myactivity.google.com ) I'm wondering if you have guest casting on and a neighbor thought it might be fun to cast that to your TV.

This is odd yet hilarious at the same time. I’m going to go ahead and post simply to keep updated on if anything else happens.
