I just ordered one off of eBay, so if anyone is interested I can provide some impressions compared to the SHIELD. I've messed with the Cheap Chinese Boxes Running Tablet Android (TM) and definitely not impressive at all, but I'd like to see if this would be a better fit for the unwashed masses out there (who frankly don't need the power of the SHIELD like us enthusiasts do).
a DRMINFO screenshot would be nice, as I haven't seen one yet that confirms Playready DRM is working, just people saying it's available in the latest boxes
1 thing that will bug you is that you won't get chromecast with China boxes. Heck, mibox's only standing feature is that it has chromecast.
Netflix and Prime DRM won't be there too. So you're stuck with 480p-720p videos, some titles at 1080p (netflix shows). Won't get all 1080p or 4k unlike shield.
I have the Pro W. The Pro L is magnitudes better.
Chromecast support doesn't work. A lot of the DRM doesn't work, so you'll probably be stuck just with Netflix.
But if that works for you, it's a good buy.
If they could sort out Chromecast support I'd replace my Nexus player in a heartbeat.

I bought this shit for 70 USD, the 2018 version that apparently supports both MS DRM and Widevine L1, the bluetooth and wifi chip in there is shit..Many users like me fail to get in and the box remains stuck at Initializing BT entry screen and acting DOA. I would strongly advise one and all to hold on till the manufacturer improves quality or fixes the issue..A look at newer motherboards reveals chips with lesser known brands and no housing. i think the model is 'pro L' and the '4k' is just part of the description '4k tv box', but who knows they might have a released new one

i have one and it's fine but i added a big ass heatsink since the original one is laughably tiny
also beware op, lots of people come out the woodwork to spread fud about these devices every time they're brought up
How is the manufacturer support as far as updates? This box looks good for my needs(Kodi mainly), but my Mi Box can do that already. If this box gets updated more often I'll jump ship.
There are very good Android TV ROM developers over on the Fresktab forums that make it real easy to flash improved Firmware for these types of devices using a OTA update.zip and a USB stick.
Nougat Firmware support is actually pretty good from the manufacturer Videostrong as well:
