I'm trying to release the battery compartment on Nvidia Shield remote using a ball pen but it's not coming out.
I see the tray going in a little bit but refuses to come out like in all the YouTube videos.
Is there a way to take apart the remote so I can change the batteries?

That's no problem, just place it in the freezer over night and in the morning you will be able to open it. The cold temperature will make the plastic parts contract.
