We had to get a new modem(spectrum Arris) a few days ago. Ever since YouTube is sluggish and defaults to 360p. If I force it to 1080 it does fine immediately. Curious if there's a work around to get things straightened back out.

On the latest version you can force quality I believe so update your apps and OS (if on MM).
I get the impression that the app is detecting some instability in your connection, so have the modem run a wireless channel scan and pick an uncluttered channel. Also make sure that you're not miles away from the modem's position in your house if using 5 GHz.
