If they won't put it out for AndroidTV, try Sony's PlayStation Vue (my personal favorite) or Dish's SlingTV. Both support AndroidTV.

You can sideload DirectTV, but customers shouldn't have to.

I decided to switch to YouTube TV on my Shield. Really liking it now.

I know they said, "We are working on it" . But, all they need to do is port the Amazon fire TV one and change some controls. I use PSVUE ,but if PSVUE went down for a long time and we wanted to switch we couldn't.

DirecTV have deals with the AppleTV 4K. You get 3 months and the ATV4K for $105

At least it's in development. Hulu has straight up said fuck Android TV.
