So my MiBox sometimes doesn't want to wake up, I even tried waking it up via IR remote but sometimes it just doesn't want to wake up. The only way to get it back is to unplug the power cable and plug it back. Wonder if it's a glitch of some sort...

Never had a problem waking up with original Bluetooth remote or IR from Harmony remote.
Sounds like there is an app hanging up your hardware (remember, apps also sometimes auto start and/or run in the background. So just because you haven't used it before the sleep, doesn't mean it wasn't running).
You have any sideloaded apps? Remove those one at a time and test. Do you have ES Explorer? That's garbage and will probably screw stuff up, so uninstall that.
Did you ever get a resolution to this? The same thing has been happening to me ever since the Oreo update (which I otherwise actually like). I've been using a Harmony Hub to control the MiBox successfully up until that point. I mean, it still does control it successfully aside from the initial wake up.
Once I unplug and replug the Harmony Hub controls it just fine. I can even put it to sleep and wake it up with no issue. It's only after it's been asleep for some time that I can't wake it with the remote.
Yes I did, apparently apps like file Explorer tend to cause this issue so I deleted it.
On the original remote, try hitting the home or center button like 5 or 6 times kinda quickly, that used to wake it up for me.
I could never turn the mibox on with an IR remote, only turn off.
