For any of you who have yet to be targetted for Oreo.

Install via normal recovery

EDIT - The above instructions worked to resolve the issue with my Mi Box.

I ran into the following issue after attempting to update via this file (I was on Nougat prior to this). Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Thank you. This also helps people with slow internet and or multiple boxes.

EDIT: DO NOT FLASH THIS MANUALLY (unless you have to), reports of soft bricking. One of my boxes are stuck in recovery.

EDIT 2: Remove --wipe_data from OP's instructions in the file and it will unbrick/continue the update! Worked for me!

EDIT 3: Factory reset manually in recovery before rebooting might have also contributed to my success.

How can I get back to mm? Flash rom zip in recovery?

Volume +/- section displaying on screen has got no icon (missing). It's just white box with blue line moving left or right while decreasing or increasing volume.

Try restarting your Mi Box first if the OTA doesn't appear when checking for updates on your Mi Box.

Is this any different than the oreo version we've had? (beta testers), cause I've had some issues with it.

Thank you for posting these instructions .. They were successful in resolving the issue with my Mi Box.

I removed --wipe_data .. Was not sure if this was necessary for it to work. Just thought I would note this.

I've created 'xiaomi_update' with the following option:

--update_package=/udisk/update.zip

after boot i've received the following error:

unable to open '/udisk/update.zip?': No such file or directory

Actually file exists. I even can run it via "update from EXT" (but after restart it boot into recovery mode)

Is this known issue? Maybe someone fixed it?
