I still don't have a 4K/HDR TV but I's still like to know what did get updated or added (or removed) to our MiBox with this Oreo update other than the non-desired Launcher :P

Dolby TrueHD (incl. Atmos) passthrough. Confirmed working with Kodi 17.
I have issues with GUI of this build.
Volume slider pop-up is too white, almost invisible.
Cannot easily go back to full screen once in PiP.
The up/down/open/remove buttons on homepage for shifting apps also doesn't have any hover-on/active color, so I can't see which button is selected at the moment.
I was really exited but now have some minor issues.
Plex app don’t work for me. When I select a movie or episode the app says it lose connection with the server. Plex Addon on Kodi works fine with all my files.
Perfect Player and Hardware+ option don’t work (some or my IPTV channels only works with this option).
No auto frame switching, that was the feature I most want but not working.
Right click as Back no longer works! It now functions as a real right click context menu in certain places. This breaks many common air mouse remotes such as my MX3-M (with coloured buttons and IR)! I've made a post if anyone knows how to solve this, otherwise I might try to write one if it's possible.
USB microphone input now works for voice input (e.g. with my air mouse remote, though the microphone key doesn't do anything or appear mappable).
Netflix still doesn't accept left-click for selecting menu items. Is it possible to change the Webview implementation on AndroidTV Oreo? I notice there is a settings DB entry for it and I can change it on my phone. Not sure whether that would affect Netflix though. On Marshmallow I noticed it was all apps using webview that refused to respond to left click properly.
Anyone try a USB TV tuner?
What about the sideloaded Amazon TV app?
Plex doesn't work
No audio.
This update effectively killed my MiBoxes.
The most desired feature for me was Dolby Audio but is still broken, see my post at the xiaomi forum:

Hopefully it will quickly be figured out why beta users ha working auto refresh rate working, and the public build isnt working, by the few who reported it.
Voice commands are not working for me. It's like the remote doesn't register any sound.
Haven't had much time testing but everything seems to be working fine but I only use Netflix, YouTube and some other apps that shall not be named.
I did notice that this update comes with a bunch of new system apps that I had to disable, like Hulu, Redbull TV, Showtime, etc... That's just a waste of space, these kind of apps should never be distributed as system apps.
I still can't get the Steam Link app to work. I go to Start Playing and it shows the logo for a second before going back to the previous screen. I have verified that the app works for my phone on the network so I don't believe it's a pc side problem. I'll try a factory reset tonight. Edit: it works after the reset.
Another drawback for me is that now the voice button always activates Google voice/assistance instead of the app's specific voice search.
So now if I want to voice search inside Plex, I have to manually click on mic button in Plex first and then the voice search works.
Updated one box and now don't have USB LAN. I can see activity on the switch, but the Mi Box says it isn't connected.
Chrome is gone. You could install it from the play store on a computer in the past, and either launch it from sideload launcher or installing leanback chrome shortcut. Now it shows as unavailable. Not that big of an issue, but I counted on it being available. Anyone knows of a decent web browser?
One gods addition is universal app launcher. I'm not sure if this was available earlier or not as I never tried it but for now, if you press and hold the home button, you will see the app launcher pop-up without stopping your current app.
A good addition in my opinion. :)
A few things that I've noticed since using my updated boxes today (from my personal use and needs):
- The overall experience is much smoother and more enjoyable to use.
- Google Assistant works quite well.
- HDHomerun inside of Live Channels is working properly.
- IPv6 with my Eero setup is working properly.
- Aerial Daydream finally works properly.
I am quite pleased with the update, but the one thing I wish was implemented was a task switch similar to that on the Shield. That's my only gripe ATM.
