Mi Box - How to retain root after Oreo update?

Hi,

I am currently on Nougat Beta Build 1028 and would like to update to Oreo but am afraid of loosing my root access. Is there any way I can update and still retain root?

I heard of Flashfire but not sure if it works for a major version upgrade and for android TV/Mi box.

NO! 1028 provides adb root typical of all userdebug builds

Oreo is not userdebug build

Dont do it... its nothing but trouble... fucking hate this oreo update and wish i never did it... cant even read my hdd in kodi etc
