Mi Box Oreo: Plex finally has 5.1 for AC3 and DTS. AAC still doesn't work for me

Cant tell you how happy I am finally getting digital 5.1 audio for most of my movies. However AAC 5.1 doesn't work. It could be that my receiver cant decode it but I thought AAC was more compatible than AC3 is. I can hear audio with AAC it just doesn't come in as digital. The movie direct plays so plex thinks I can do AAC.

Can anyone get 5.1 AAC working with plex? Just wondering if it's just me and my receiver.

But Netflix still doesn't work with 5.1, if you go to settings -> audio -> and select surround sound, when I select "always" the 5.1 logo in netflix titles appear but if I play the movie no sound is heard through HDMI or optical, it looks like the Dolby Audio decoder is still broken and the raw Dolby Digital Plus bitstream is getting passed through directly regardless where it is connected, the same happens with play movies and tv.

I'm experiencing the same thing. Download an AAC test file. Plex is only playing the left and right channels. The center and 2 rear surround channels are completely dead.

At first I thought it was Oreo, but if you cast the same test file or use Kodi to play the same test file, both play the audio properly, so it is something broken in Plex.
