Updated both of my MiBoxes this afternoon, and both of them (connected to different monitors) have no audio at all. If I disconnect the HDMI cable with something playing, then reconnect it, I will have audio for about 5-10 seconds and then it shuts off again.
Anyone else seeing this issue? Any ideas on how to fix it?
I had the same issue. I did the above steps I unplugged tv a few minutes and the box. Turned on tv alow it time to start up then did the same with the box. So far no issue. That was a close one guys I thaught I was going to have to pay for movies and TV again. Good luck everyone having this issue.
My audio problems are limited to Netflix - I get no audio when 5.1 streams are selected.
Do a factory reset, mate.
Just unplug mi box for few minutes and replug it. It should fix it, if not do a factory reset and repeat the same.
I got no sound issue with HDHomerun also.

Same issue with my AVR.
Xiaomi mi box is connected to smart Samsung TV. The TV connected to AVR with optical wire.
No Audio since OREO update.
Removing the HDMI and get is back, I get audio for 5 second only.
I wish I could rollback.

Im having audio issues aswell. It seems Xiaomi is not supportint DTS 5.1 audio on Oreo.. i have a plex server and every movie i have with DTS HD 5.1 or 7.1 have no voice áudio, only background audio... I have no idea how to fix this.
Any of you know how to fix or to rollback to 6.0?
Edit: Oh i found a solution already!
Go to settings, then go to sound and disable dolby Sounds and surround sound, after that reboot mi box and try to play something. This fix it for me.
