Philips AndroidTV Lan Slow Lan Conection!

by Arky_PT

Hello Guys! Im a owner of a Philips 55pus6551. I have always used my tv conected via WiFi, but its was a little unstable, always chaging from 70mgs to 95mgs of download.

I have decided to pass a Cat6 Cable, so i could have a stable 100Mgs like i have on my PC. But testing on the TV, with RJ45 i can only Get 54 to 56mgs of download.

Any clues on whats wrong? Is the network card really that bad on this model?

Thanks fot the help!

Is this with the native RJ45 port on the TV?

Maybe test with a USB 3 network adapter and see if that's any better?

Just to share that I bought Philips 65PUS7803 1 month ago and I have exact same problem with LAN connection. MediPlayer on same router is giving me 125Mbps, laptop connected with cable 200Mbps and TV connected with same cable as laptop is giving me 55Mbps, not enough for streaming high bitrate 4K movies from PC.

I am suprised that ethernet adapter is so slow. Maybe it is Android issue and will be fixed in some update?

At least those numbers are more stable

what's the source where you're testing on? it cna make a difference

I did tests from a wired gigabit server to the wired tv, and had stable 90Mb/s

try to do a clean casting test from a wired pc using Airflow

have a look at my test results and the difference the source connection does

  • laptop gigabit lan -> Philips AndroidTV 100Mbit lan - 90Mb/s

  • laptop 2.4Ghz wifi -> Philips AndroidTV 100Mbit lan - 55Mb/s

There is a Gigabit switch, sharing the conection to the PS4. On the PS4 i get also 98mgs. TV only place getting 50/55mgs

So. Just tried the USB to RJ45 but the TV shows "not compatible device connected" Stilo cant figure out why i have more speed Over WiFi . Maybe its just a limitation of the onboard ethernet adapter.

Did you solved it since? I have similar problem with a similar Philips TV. I want to watch 4K content via DLNA, but 60 Megabitrate videofiles lag. I have no idea why they didn't put a gigabit network in the thing with a good quality network chip.

Yeah mate, big surprise for me as well! I have a 65OLED806 and the LAN port is shit... completely last century! Unbelieveble!
