Man I'm getting sick of seeing all these issues and complaints here on reddit. So I though we could have a place where everyone can put their positive reviews. People are never happy. My good running mibox's might start crying from all these insults.

There is nothing wrong with posting about issues they are facing due to the update. Well and good if it works for you. Fanboyism doesn't need to defy logic.
Not every upgrade will be all positive. Even shield users dont see 100% positive updates.
Maybe there should he one sticky thread with all the issues listed that people have posted about so the front page isn't flooded. Shield owners starting to get angry that they are no longer the big boys in this sub and I'm seeing downvotes for posts that would normally not get downvoted.
The external HDD issue is with NTFS and exFAT drives, and also app specific. i.e. Kodi for example will not see NTFS/exFAT drivers but will work find with drives in fat32. VLC on the other hand can access any drive.
If you are sick get a pill.
Yeah mine going great... I use Emby, Netflix YouTube and Hdhomerun with live channels...

Mine's a very basic setup, just the TV, Mi Box and another set top box from my ISP. So not seeing any issues. I’ve also turned off all of the custom channels and added my most used apps as favourites so they are easy to access. I use the Mi Box solely for streaming via a few apps, so this has allowed me to reduce the clutter further compared to the previous layout.
Just received my three brand new Mi boxes!
Plugged the first in, updated itself to Oreo.
No issues so far
UI feels a bit weird. Wish me luck with the other two new units plus my 2 month old one.
Having remote issues. I have to push the on button on the remote about 10 times before it will turn on. Once it's one I don't have any other remote issues.

I couldn't find Picture in picture mode in Youtube(i dont know if its exclusive for Youtube RED)
External hard drives are not getting detected. Especially NTFS format
There are lags in the home screen
I couldn't find recent app switcher (exists in Sheild)
Sound doesnt work sometimes,need to restart
Increasing Volume level upto 50% makes good sound coverage to my room in the case of MM,but in Oreo it doesnt.

My Google play movies audio is seriously off. Like 7 to 10 seconds with video. Anybody got a solution?
my general impression is that apps work faster but UI is slower (only on home screen)
Updated to Oreo. HDMI CEC works perfectly with Vizio TV + Vizio Soundbar. No CEC conflicts with other CEC devices in the mix (Apple TV 4K)
Aptoide isn’t showing up to allow unknown sources.
I'm really liking it so far. A few "how do I do this?" But no real issues. The very few bugs (that appear like alot because people keep reposting the same bug) are probably going to be fixed soon. I think most of the issues are on Google's OS code and with Oreo's Project Treble, it will hopefully let the updates/fixes come faster.
I personally wouldn't go back to MM and am looking forward to apps like Netflix, Live Channels, Vudu, etc using the channels feature properly (ie not ads...err, I mean "recommendations").
I updated yesterday and everything seems to be working fine.
It will take some time to get used to the new Oreo interface, and I don't like the white volume bar, but apart from that, I'm one happy customer ;-)
The only thing I'm missing now is AFR Switch but I kinda lost hope on that one now.
Updated 2 boxes, seamless and love it. Went ahead and disabled all the useless apps like Pandora and redbull etc, but it's fast and no issues with video or audio. Love the new ui. Google assistant is nice.
Running perfectly here. And I'm actually digging the Oreo interface more than I thought I would. Long live the Mi Box!

I'm trying to update but the Mi Box is stuck at this point since more than 45 minutes. I previously was on Nougat Beta (no factory reset) and I'm simply updating via OTA. It seems that the only thing that I can do is power off the device but since it started installing Oreo I don't know if is the right thing to do. What should I do? Anyone had the same issue?
EDIT: unplugging the Mi Box fixes the issue. After the reboot the update starts again and after 2 minutes the device is updated. Hope it helps. https://i.imgur.com/KU44wII.jpg
Anyone having Bluetooth game controller issues? Was hoping the update would let me pair the Nintendo pro or the ps4 dualshock but now I can't pair any controller...
Improvements:
- bluetooth audio has no delay (althow, netflix limits itself to hd when bt audio is active)
- amazon video for androidTV plays without glitches (sideloaded play strore apk)
I can't access my external hard drive on kodi after upgrading to version 8.0. Now my tv shows "mibox signal received/mibox signal lost" even when i switch to cable tv input, and my mibox is turned off.
have any tried any bluetooth headphones with mibox? specially AirPods
i tried a couple, as soon as they connect the stream starts to log either from youtube and netflix
Someone please help me I get to the update bootloader.img, then it restarts into recovery with the 3 update dots and is stuck After update bootloader.img Screen right before it resets into recovery
So far so BAD, i Fucking hate Chinese Communist
