I have both the Mibox and Nvidia Shield TV with the upgraded Oreo. Definitely don't like the current homescreen. Is there anyway to get back the old homescreen (launcher)?

Not that I'm aware of. If you can find a similar launcher you could install that and pin the icon for it in the first slot so you can get to it quickly
I wish. I "upgraded" (more like downgraded) my Nexus Player to Oreo months ago and I regret it. I'm going to see how long I can go without hitting the upgrade button on my Shield until support ends and things start breaking. Then I'll be forced to tolerate the horrible UI.
I would suggest a factory reset for any MiBox that's having issues since it's been so long between updates. My MiBox took Oreo without issue. But I have no incompatible apks sideloaded in it.
Buy a Mi Box that still has Android Marshmallow on it and proceed to ignore Popups to "Update" to Oreo.
Also put up with no ongoing support and security updates.
Short answer NO.
Hate the new launcher. It's fucking ugly as sin. Still haven't updated becuase of how trash it is. Almost feel bad for my dad as I got him a xiaomi mi box and he's running the new version.
Unfortunately I have been on reddit long enough enough to not care about down votes. Some of the down votes are just downright silly and nonsense. I came here to ask for help and provide help if and when I can provide one.
Anyway, I am asking if the old launcher can restore since I do not like channel view of the new interface.
