Anyone else got this, it's really weird especially since movies work up to 4k and FullHD
UPDATE: 60fps videos are capped at 720p and lower fps(24 or 30) are capped at Full HD

it is weird ofc. mine sometimes output 1080/720p hell no. go to app info and do 'uninstall updates' back to 2.02.15 and back to normal
I wrote a review on play store to report this problem. But I don't think they read reviews.
Tried reverting back to 2.02.15 but the app immediately crashes unless I have the newest version. Help!!!
Yes, mine is being capped at 1080p since the update on all 4k videos I've tested. Some 1080p 60fps videos only show at 720p as well.
Check the display settings for the Mi Box. After the update it set my resolution to 480p even though I had it set at 1080p before the update.
This seems like a familiar issue.
When it happened before, someone explained what's going on is that this version of the youtube app doesn't recognize that the Mi Box is capable of playing certain types of VP9 videos, so it gets limited to mostly what's available in MP4 for each video.
