try upgrading to Kodi v18.0 alpha. That fixed some video stuttering issues I was having. It might help out your situation too.
My audio doesn't work either. Not in Kodi, not anywhere. Does factory reset help? This is the only thing I haven't tried yet

Kodi will show me the HDD, but when i click on it to enter, it will pop up a message saying something about unknown path or something like that . I tried to do factory reset and nothing.
VLC shows the files and can play it, but there sound problems. it will only let me hear background sound but people speaking is all silent or you can hear it really really low.
WHAT A MISTAKE WAS TO UPDATE IT. dont know what to do now. my mibox is useless. i bought it to serve as a media box so i can watch movies from my HDD
