I have a Mi Box and I am very satisfied with the amount of news available on the device.
Here is a list of the apps I have successfully installed on my box:
- Al Jazeera
- Bloomberg
- CBC News
- CNBC
- Deutsche Welle
- FRANCE 24 - this is my favorite, a good amount of international news
- NBC News

For what it's worth, I'm in Brazil and all the apps are working without registration or any tricks.
France 24 is great. Sky News is pretty good too, and you don't seem to have that listed. There are quite a few news channels, but I really wish there was more international ones.
