Audio dropouts on bitstreaming after Oreo update

by terrencewilliams2

Anyone getting this? Lpcm works fine. Getting audio drops every single min or so if I use bitstream. Tested HDMI cable/receiver and other devices bitstream fine except for mibox regardless of Kodi/netflix.

I monitored by receivers status and basically when the audio drop outs occurs, it "loses" the audio channels except for the subwoofer in the bitstream.

Yes I'm getting the same problem with Oreo. So far I haven't been able to find any info on the cause or any suggested solutions.

Same problem here. This is making me crazy. :(

I have had the problem also in the previous Android version, but a factory reset fix it. Now with Oreo the problem remains.

The problem is with Dolby Digital Plus. (Kodi or Netflix). I have tried Dolby, DTS, Dolby True-HD and DTS-HD MA and didn't noticed any problem.

Very angry with the Xiaomi Box, because the optical output also didn't help a bit converting DD+ to DD.

I had reduced audio volume till I selected in Audio settings:

Dolby Sounds > OFF

Even then I've noticed bitstreamed audio dropouts with 5.1 Netflix DD+ audio.

I suspect WiFi data transfer performance is Buggy with this Oreo update which leads to audio issues.

A Ugreen Gigabit Ethernet adapter helped a bit but it still not 100%

What AV Receiver do you have? I have a Yamaha RX-V663.

I'm thinking about buying a HDMI splitter and route the Xiaomi to the TV and the AV Receiver with the Splitter. It looks like it's not a massive problem, because no many people is writing about it. Should be very interesting to try with other Xiaomi box owner that don't have the problem to check if it's a Xiaomi-AV Receiver combo issue.

I'm getting audio dropouts bitstreaming DD+ from the Netflix app on my Denon AV receiver as well, the box is not yet upgraded to Oreo. Sometimes it's just the audio, sometimes the picture freezes for a moment, I assume to maintain AV sync.

And just when I thought I finally found a device that can properly bitstream DD+ from Netflix...
