MiBox no sound after sleep (Oreo)

by Silenttap

I was wondering if someone has found a reason or perhaps a solution to the problem caused by the oreo update when Mi box gives zero sounds after waking it up from sleep?

I've now seen this bug mentioned few times here and few times at xiaomi.eu forums. It obviously is not affecting everyone so it probably has something to do with our setups.

My Mibox is (or was, i put the damn box away) connected to a Phillips 8102 TV which is connected to a Pioneer AVR thru HDMI arc.

No settings option or any tinkering seems to work, only restart of the box will bring the sounds back. This is rather annoying so I just stopped using Mi Box altogether for the moment. Factory reset did nothing.

There wasn't a specific thread for this particular bug, albeit there are other ppl with other sound problems after Oreo but these are different problems although might be related somehow, who knows.

Me too!

same here. no sound after wake up from sleep.

also, screen resolution goes down to 480p with only 8bit,rgb option available.

mibox oreo plugged directly into TV (old 720p non HDCP 2.2 compliant)

Try going into Android settings > Display > Screen Resoltion...

And make sure you are using a 420,8bit or 444,8bit Colorspace and Bit Depth

Do NOT use "AUTO switch to best resolution"

You are very likely getting a HDCP failure after waking from Sleep leading to audio issues.

I have this problem too but I'm still on marshmallow.

CryptoCF

mine gets extremely slow and stuttering

DeskReference

Same issues. 2 boxes, one connected through a receiver and another getting sound through Arc. It's really freaking annoying.

Stupid update.

As for sound turn off Dolby in the settings fixed the sound woahs for me.

nolookjones

yes im getting this too, tried turning off dolby but still am getting no sound until reboot...i suspect its some type of DRM issue that sleep mode causes. extremely annoying...

Same problem here. It requires me to change inputs to get it to work. Sometimes that doesn't even work and I have to turn off the TV and reboot the Mibox until the sound is restored.

Additionally, some times the audio will work properly when I switch inputs and switch back to the correct one, but it'll cut out after about 5 seconds of playing audio. Really freaking annoying.

I was having same issue. But no longer after factory reset.

salamaja

Same here :/

dedektif17

I have the same issue

I haven't had this issue since the latest Oreo update. So perhaps it was accidentally fixed cos it sure hell was not in the Change Log.

For Info - An update has been released which addresses this issue. It’s only 40mb and is quick to download. No issues after the update.
