How to change launcher for Android TV? And recommendations

Hi, I have a Nvidia Shield Android TV which recently upgraded to the newest version of Android and Nvidia Experience.

I somehow don't like the new launcher that has become default as it doesn't have the same amount of glancable information as it used to. I mean, it is more granular now as it gives more details about particular apps which have the functionality.

Can someone suggest any good launcher? And how to make it default? I tried one but every time I hit the home button it goes to the default launcher (I couldn't find the relevant change default option in Settings as on smartphones).

What launcher do you want? If you know what that is then I can build you a custom launcher that you will simply install as an APK and choose as default. All of this is dependent on what you want the launcher to launch. MSG me if you are truly interested.

There is no way to change the default launcher in AndroidTV without root. It is complicated and dangerous if you don't know how to do it.

I suggest to download download HAL Launcher and use the Channels feature to add all your apps in the default launcher. https://youtu.be/6nLZB8-vsDY (it is in Spanish but you will get the gist of it by watching.)

I have Nova Launcher on mine without any mods, just installed this app for easy access to it whenever I prefer, air mouse comes in most handy when doing so, as well.

Alternately, you can access Nova via this app also when installed.
