Do you use the original remote? I saw threads about it after Mi Box had the update and assume it's an Oreo issue. Maybe it has to do with Bluetooth because I never had it happen while using IR.
Do you have ipv6 on? They're still working on that bug and can cause similar issues if I recall. Best to disable.
Do you have static ip on it in shield settings? They also found a bug with that and had me return mine to dhcp.
I did have this happen once since being on oreo but after doing the above and power cycling my network and shield, it hasn't happened again, fingers crossed.
Thank you for the tips I do have IPv6 on and I have a reservation set up for the IP address on my router so I’ll make those changes and give it a try and see if it works
I think I had the same issue. I had a universal remote that used IR. Any button pressed used to wake up my Shield but now nothing does. I had a macro set up on the remote to turn on everything I needed in my living room to watch TV. I had to change it to only turn on my TV and speakers and set up CEC to turn on my Shield when my TV turned on.
I tried all steps above except doing a factory reset nothing has worked.
I've noticed this too. I use IR, but never had a problem before.
If it continues, I'll probably just disable sleep mode.
That won’t work for me I used CEC to control turning on Home Theater on and off with my shield.
Enabling developer options on settings, then enabling "stay awake" solved all my problems so far.
Thanks for the tip but Shield is gone moved to a Apple TV 4K so far its the best streaming box I’ve owned.
Hate to have to recommend this but have you tried a factory reset?
