HDCP 2.2 issues after Mibox Oreo update

by bsphere

Unfortunately I upgraded my Mibox to Oreo. It is connected to a Denon X1200W AVR which is then connected to an old TV. After the update, like others are experiencing, the AVR says that the TV is not HDCP 2.2 and I had to connect the Mibox directly to the TV. Should I believe that a fix is coming or is it fairy tale? Will Netflix work (with DD+) if I connect a HDMI splitter to strip the HDCP signal?

Same here. I bought my dad one as a Xmas present.

Mibox updated the fucking thing and now he gets a black screen.

His mibox is plugged into a pioneer VSX-531 receiver (4k / HDCP 2.2) and the Bravia TV is 1080p / HDCP 1.4.

When the mibox is plugged directly into the tv everything works fine. Through the receiver though he gets a black screen. I'd route everything through the TV to the receiver but the TV is several years old and doesn't appear to have an HDMI ARC input.

I'll never buy mibox again.

I had to apologize to my dad that my Xmas present to him was worthless junk after only 7 months.

Time to dust off my unused Nexus Player or get an Amazon fire stick (shield is too pricey and there are no other alternatives - amazon 4k boxes don't work very well in Canada for some reason)

The latest patch has fixed the issue , try installing the latest update, it is about 40 MB in size.

as far as i know there is no fix coming, ive reported the issue to Xiaomi but the response i had was nothing to do with the issue, the bug was also reported by at least one beta tester before full release.

please email service.global@xiaomi.com explain your issues and reference this sub

Same here, Onkyo Amp, 2012 Samsung D8000 now I can't even view the Mibox if connected to the amp.

If I use ARC through the TV I get picture but only stereo or if I force surround, no audio at all.

mibox will not fix this, I'm just going to buy a new TV (hopefully with ATV built in)

Don't know about the fix, but I can confirm that Netflix with DD+ will work if you use a splitter. For some reason you have to turn Dolby Sounds off in the settings, otherwise it will only pass stereo. Good luck. For the record, I have a Denon X2400H and old TV.
