Is there an easy way to shutdown the Shield TV on Android Oreo like you could do it with Android Nougat?
Going to settings -> about -> shutdown -> yes is a bit ... complicated.

How often do you even shut it down? I probably restarted like thrice in last 15 months and never shut it down.
Hit the microphone button,,, say - turn off
Just power off your tv and the shield will automatically turn off.
Are their really that many folks that shut their Shields all the way down that often, vs just putting them to sleep?
Hi
I shutdown my shield everyday day (I'm Nvidia Shield 2015 user)
Since Oreo update, the shutdown function is so far in the settings
So , I use Button mapper apps, and I mapped shutdown function by a short press on vocal search button on remote

"OK Google turn off" on the Shield
"OK Google turn off the Shield TV" on your phone, using same login & Wifi network
If your TV supports HDMI-CEC, just turn off your TV. Your Shield should detect this, and turn off itself.
Same question. I want to actually restart the shield and can't work out how to do it.
Before people just tell me to put it to sleep, i want a full shutdown and restart. I'm having trouble playing a video file.
I don't understand why you would shut it down daily.
By default it goes to sleep after an idle period which is effectively off, unless you have the Plex Media Server enabled, in which case it doesn't go fully to sleep.
Mic button, "Shut down." Done. Easy.
Sure, plug it into a power strip along with your TV and whatever other AV equipment and flip the switch to turn off everything at once. Get a Wemo or whatever plug and you can even have Assistant power it all off for you. If you're going to the trouble of hard powering off the Shield TV, you really should do the TV as well since many use more in standby than the Shield TV does in Portal.
Try holding the back button. I saw that mentioned on the Shield subreddit but i haven't tested it myself yet
