PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE CHANGE!
There are always going to be issues after a major update like this. They could beta test it for almost forever and there would be issues.
I do not understand it either. Even though I own Nvidia Shields and not a mibox, Shield owners seem to be having the same complaints. My Shields run flawlessly even after the update, doesn’t make sense.
I'm enjoying it so far, I'm a big fan of the UI and such. But my only issue is the remote does reconnect upon sleep, and Netflix doesn't seem to play very well anymore. But it's a good update so far
People come here to troubleshoot, ask questions, complain and some Shield sales people.
There seems like an uptick in issues, but it is because the updates on both devices cause people to have more questions (sometimes in form of complaining) and help with troubleshooting.
So it's hard to tell how many people in general have these issues.
People just like to complain. First they complain about having to wait for an update, then they complain about bugs that probably wouldn't be there if they had waited longer. And if they can't find any bugs they'll complain because they don't like changes in the UI. And if they actually do like the UI they can still blame the update for bad scripted apps not working anymore.
Without audio how can it be a media player? Lost audio after Oreo update
Because YOU'RE FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!
Just because you haven't encountered any issues, does not mean others are not.
This is an incredibly useless post to be honest. You even stated you have experienced (albeit minor) bugs.
Be happy yours is working without issues at that's that. There's been enough reports at this point to confirm that Wi-Fi inconsistency, the remote disconnecting as well as voice input not working, are a real thing and break the consistency most expect from their devices.
It's called empathy, don't be one of those individuals.
