Is there any official statement from Xiaomi regarding the MiBox-Oreo issues?

by finsareluminous

Sadly I'm one those affected, and nothing I tried worked (factory reset, static ip, various router settings), and the box is pretty much useless for my me at this point. So my only hope is a patch, but I didn't see any indication on when I should expect one or that Xiaomi are even working on it.

I've looked in their official pages and couldn't find any mention of the update-related problems of the Mi Box. They haven't replied to my email as well.

Most of the issues you list is not a Xiaomi problem. Only auto refresh and resolution is a problem.

Many of it is Oreo specific that affects both Mi Box and Shield. You would need for Google to fix it. I expect when one gets the patch the other will get it very soon afterwards.

Also it's been a week and a half about, so I do hope it is soon. It must be annoying for those with issues.

I haven’t had any issue with Oreo on mibox or shield. Hate the UI tho

Is there a list of known issues anywhere? I may be lucky, so far the only bug I have is that it wont wake from sleep, I have to pull the power from it.

I'm also suffering from a bad update

they need to offer a way to downgrade this pos. now my entire home theater is sitting there collecting dust because of the hdcp 2.2 issue with my hdcp-capable denon receiver. i was waiting for all the bugs to be fixed before updating the thing myself but the mibox devs forced the update without giving me any notification whatsoever
