I see all these posts of complaints and issues and I can't relate. I seen them before I updated, I did not take the OTA but factory reset and flashed update in recovery and I have only had minor issues with it. Compared to all previous versions.... Oreo is hands down the best. My box is sooo much faster, Assistant actually WORKS. Youtube is flawless. I actually can use my device now as opposed to the brick I had before waiting for the update.
Before oreo it worked, but after oreo it works a bit better in some ways, just as good as others. Sadly the youtube app has the new worse interface though. Also they have a beta out for the hard drive/flash drive issue
I ended up repurchasing another MiBox after hearing about the Oreo update, and I am pleased with this update. I have had very few if any issues. The Mibox 3 with the Oreo update has been great for me.
Update has been great for me as well. Before I had HDCP just to 1.1, now it goes to 2.2 and I can watch Netflix at last. Also some apps which werent working before are working now.
There is some minor issues, but in general device works faster. Even video quality seems slightly better now.
Cant remember before upgrade, but the following are issues/bugs/features in mibox 3 w/Oreo
Youtube app doesnt play 4K 60Hz or hdr clip. All will be downgraded to either 1080 or 720p. Only clips of 4k 30Hz can be played in native mode. (My TV setup is 4k 60Hz in mibox, 4K HDR plays correctly in Plex)
In order to switch between opened apps and close apps, I have to connect a keyboard and make use of “alt-tab” key
After playing with Plex, there may be situation of video/audio out of sync, which affects ALL the apps. To fix it u have no choice but to restart the mibox in the menu.
Except the above, mibox3 w/oreo works well for me( or to be more specific, I adapt well with mibox3/oreo. If you want something works well out of the box, get an Apple TV 4K)
Disclaimer: use mibox 3 mainly for plex , spotify and youtube.

Don't you know MiBox sux in general and totally sux with Oreo even more.
We waited 7 years for this update after being promised Nougat for 10 years.
Every single MiBox user is having huge problems!!
