Really hope they fix the sleeping bug where it won't wake up from sleep mode until you unplug then plug it back in.
Not a word about DD+ passthrough sound drops. That doesn't look good.
Good news but only a day or so back we were told that google certification made this impossible and a months delay was needed..
Someones telling porkies.
When I warned them about HDCP 2.2 problems when connected trough my receiver and not directly to TV, which were visible from Nougat Beta, everyone was either saying my setup is wrong or my cables are wrong etc.
Glad they are fixing it, but replaced it with appletv and haven't looked back. I still use it in my bedroom for Plex and that's about it...
That's great and all. But my mi box has been a glorified paper weight since the Oreo update. I can't get the box to load unless I connect to a splitter, and it still has issues.
They need to offer up a recovery roll back file with detailed instructions on how to roll back to Nougat so people can use the box as it was intended.
It's getting kind of ridiculous, first they say that it takes more than a month to get certificate from google for an OTA, now they will push and update within a week?!
Do they seriously think that the HDCP and NTFS problems are the most urgent?!?! the box is unusable with that unstable wifi driver, disconnect and connect every 5 mins, wifi speed are
terrible, usually no sound, horrible picture quality in some apps, especially in IPTV apps, BUT the HDCP and NTFS problems are the most urgent... go figure.
I would really like to have refresh rate auto switch working.
"This week"
Fuck mark? Chants
Any chance this might fix the tvq-pm-100 (5.2.5) issue with Netflix? Out of the blue about 2 years ago Netflix stopped working. I've tried multiple TVs and multiple HDMI wires with no luck.
is it not possible to turn off updates?
i said enough already, no BS thanks
Ok now I am curious what will happen to those in the beta. Will they get an update or will they stay with what they got?
Any update for anyone yet?
I got the original OTA Oreo update for all Mi Boxes. No subsequent updates yet. The update seems to work for me. Not much change, functionally. I don't care about GUI changes either way.
One possible improvement: Once in a while, before the update, the box would not wake up from "off" without unplugging and plugging in the power. I think that the problem was with pairing the remote, but I'm not sure. Now that happens less frequently or possibly not at all.
One quirk:
I have a soundbar/subwoofer hooked to my TV (the TV is the hub of my system, with multiple inputs, one of which is the Mi Box 3). Before the update, raising the volume with the Mi Box remote raised only the soundbar volume (good!). Now it raises the soundbar volume AND the TV internal speaker volume (bad).
I have too little understanding of CEC to know which behaviour is correct, but I do prefer the old behaviour.
Any news on the update / patch ?
I just got the update now .
What gets on my nerves is the constant HDMI "ping" to the TV. The TV keeps saying that the HDMI port used by MiBox "is now available".. anyone with this problem? LG TV
This is of definitely a good news but Can we have our Android 6.0 back please .
The admin of Xiaomi Europe forums has now taken to lies (claiming users agreed to the update) and then deleting his own posts and banning users who questioned him on how it was possible to reject the update.
Trying to control the negative feedback by banning people who call him out on lies isnt going to contain the issues.
