by Arky_PT

Hello. So i just bought a uGreen USB 3.0 ethernet adapter wich is sayd to work out of the box in the AndroidTV ou the Minix and NVIDIA Shields. I connected ir to my Philips tv so i can end my ethernet speed problem. But its showing has a "not supported device". Any way i can install a driver to get it working?

Not that I'm aware of, I think you might be out of luck.

Or maybe you just got lucky and now have the perfect excuse to buy a Shield!

The long answer is that drivers would have to be found (or written), baked into android's kernel, a new ROM would have to be created, and then you'd have to flash that ROM to your TV.

The short answer is: no, not without a ton of effort.

Maybe email Philips and see if there is a supported USB-ethernet adapter?

It works on the mi box great, not sure why your TV doesn't have the correct drivers. If Ethernet is needed, then an AndroidTV box like Mi Box or even the shield might be necessary.
