Mibox not responding to remote after being off for a while

by TigerClaw305

It appears that the Mibox isn't responding to the remote after you had it off for a few hours. Before the update. I was able to turn it on by pressing the power on the remote. Now it doesn't respond unless I unplug the power and plug it back on to restart the device.

Is this happening with anyone else's Mibox?

This is happening on both of my boxes after the Oreo update. The solution I've found is to hold the Home & Back button to wake it up, as if you're pairing a new remote.

Smash the small middle round Home button multiple times will wake it up.

Also turns on my HDMI CEC connected TV as well.

With my mibox and tv, if i press power it turns on my TV, then I have to hit the circle button on my remote like 4 or 5 times and then the MiBox wakes up

I have the newest beta update. No problem after leaving it off overnight

Same situation on my box after upgrade.

Also I have

  1. Unwanted signal on HDMI port that make my TV pop-op a message when I using TV with Antenna source. The messages said: that "new device detected on HDMI port, Do you want to switch to HDMI?"
  2. Random sound problem. No sound transmitted to my Audio systems. Can be fix by restarting the Mi BOX.
  3. Rendering bugs. Gray box that cover almost 80% of screen and everything move to top 20%.
  4. Boot problem that you mentioned.

Who is responsible?

Why they upgrade it without owner permission? They make sling as default app. They sold our privacy and ownership for couple of dollars. Pro keep saying we become a product for companies when we using the free services like Facebook, Insta and google but now we know that we are product even when we a pay for a hardware device.

I received a new update this week. And it still hasn't fixed the problem. The Mibox still not responding to the remote. just tapping the power or the circle button is doing nothing.

Is there any solution? My MiBox updated itself to Oreo and this problem just came up.

ISR-Asaf

i have the same problem.

Still no fix? Just bought my xiaomi about 2 weeks ago, seem to be facing same issue.

Change the batteries on the remote. They die out faster than I expected.
