I'm used to Oreo now.

The old UI is becoming a distant memory. All my apps are now in the very top row instead of below some kind of recommendations row that I never used. You can even re-order or remove the Play Next row in this new UI. And I even dusted off the gamepad to play some free GeForce games.

Safe to say I've gotten used to the new layout and no longer have the "omg I can't handle change" stick up my butt. I'm glad I just updated as soon as it was offered so I could get familiar with it.

I updated and really like it. I'm not sure how people were using the previous one but I found Oreo to be an upgrade and easier to use.

The channels are great when they are properly used. It suggests new content to me and it allows me to continue where I left off. Anyone that thinks this is a step backwards is incapable of handling change

I'm getting used to it, but would love the option to have 2 app rows on top instead of just the one.

Yeah, this community made me scared about O because there were so many people who said it was awful, but I love it and I’m super happy to have it over N

Max_Roc

I love it

Dark_Moe

To me it just seemed people were having on it cause it was different from what they were used to, always happens.

As soon as I saw the video lady year I was like that is so much more it usable. Watching something on Netflix and want the next episode, now you don't even have to launch the app.

Liked so much I bought a second Shield during the Prime day sale.

come on Sony - give it to me on my Bravia, please!

If you haven't updated and are dealing with a nagging popup at the top to update or looking into blocking the IPs for the OTA... you could be past all of this if you had just updated already.

90% of the time I'm in Kodi so I often forget about it anyway

unixphreak

I like to be the center of an oreo

How do you reorder or remove the play next row? I have 2 and was able to do it on one, but the other is stuck in place (no option to move/remove when it is selected). Can't remember if there is something I did to enable that on the first or if there is something wrong in the second.

metatime09

I'm liking it, my apps are at the top now lol

Oreo would be fine.. I prefer the layout..

I just cant get my box to stay connected long enough to stream a show.. and if it does 50% of the time the sound cuts after a few seconds.. Requiring a full power cycle of the box and TV !!

I tried to fully factory reset a box, only minimal apps, use a static IP, and hope it would be useable but after 30 mins of cursing plugged another older box back in...

It 'looks' fine.. It just does not work (for me)..

EDIT :: I just re-read and forgot you may not have been talking mi Box oreo.. Maybe it was a shield post.

We don't have a choice. We have to live with it.

Nvidia straight up shat in our mouths for a long time with how the old ui forced uou into navigating shit you didn't want so this is a step in the right direction but it could have been done a lot better and it certainly should have been done a lot sooner.

Or we can just root the thing, install FOTAkill (in the system directory like it's supposed to be installed) and just get on with our lives using the operating system designed to work best on our hardware. Forced upgrades don't have to be your future unless you want them to be.

I had the Oreo update and hated it. I hated using my Nexus Player with it installed. It just sat there ignored. Then I rolled back to the earlier GUI of a previous version of the operating system and rediscovered how much I enjoyed using AndroidTV all over again...
