Took advantage of the deal today! The version with the game pad is on sale this week for $179 (Reg $199) minus the $30 Retired my original chromecast that I had in the bedroom. Very happy to have solid access to my Plex server, HDHomerun Tuner and Amazon prime video on one device!
As usual the customer service reps were clueless of the deal but we're able to eventually give me the coupon. They didn't test so I guess if your device is dead you can still take advantage.
I took my OG Chromecast, they accepted it and gave me $30 off the model with the controller! Of course the person helping me had never heard of this deal.
I just bought a MiBox like two months ago. They'd have to double the money I get and cut the SHIELD price to a third. I don't need to play Metal Gear Rising again that badly.
If I were in the market for another Shield, it's nice to know my old Fire TV stick could do something useful for me.
