So we recently got a new tv which is a Philips 6000 series. It runs on android 5.0 but the thing is. It doesn't have google play store. It does have a "Philip App Store" which is pure garbage, because I can't download the youtube and netflix app on it. How can I download the youtube app on this tv?
You might be able to sideload the play store but a Philips TV with Marshmallow is full of bugs and instabilities. I got a Shield and stopped using the built-in, buggy Android. Much happier now.
Can you somehow side load the Play Store?

Interesting. It's a TV with Android, but it's not running the Android TV operating system. Kinda odd that it's 2018 and this thing exists. Your best bet is to buy a Mi Box or Shield to connect to it and avoid the TV's UI altogether. Although on the product page for this TV , it does say Netflix and YouTube are available as a "NetTV apps".
