To be clear, do you mean Dolby Atmos/TrueHD codecs? Or regular old Dolby Digital 5.1?

Which model TV and sound bar do you own?

Many are capable of passing Dolby Digital (AC3) or even Dolby Digital Plus (EAC3) over HDMI ARC or optical.

If you're concerned about Dolby TrueHD for a soundbar, I'm going to tell you right now that it is simply not worth the trouble.
