XBR-65X850C will not factory reset

by kingslynn93

As of late I have been having issues with my Sony Smart TV. Every time I turn the TV on the TV has lost WiFi capabilities and I have to hold down the power button for 10 seconds until the TV resets. I figured I should just factory reset it in order to avoid having to do this every time. When I go to the settings to hit Factory Reset, it just goes to the home screen, prompting and doing nothing. I’ve tried to physically manually reset it by unplugging and holding down the volume down and power button for 10-30 seconds until a green light appears on the LED below the logo. But that yields no results either.

I’m really unsure where to go from here and would appreciate any help.

enable developer mode, enable remote debugging. load adb on a pc and connect to the tv's adb, factory reset using the commands. possibly something like --wipe_data

I did not test these instructions, as I do not wish to factory reset my TV, but you can try this.

Disconnect the power cable from the Sony Bravia TV, wait roughly one minute, and then reconnect the TV's power cable. Turn on the TV if it doesn't turn on automatically.

Repeat Step 1.

Hold down the "Up" arrow button on the remote control that came with the Sony Bravia.

Press the TV's "Power" button while holding down the "Up" arrow button, and then release the "Up" arrow button. The word "Reset" appears momentarily in the lower left corner of the screen and then the TV restarts.

Wait for one minute after the Sony Bravia restarts, disconnect the power cable, wait for roughly 10 seconds and then reconnect the power cable.

Turn the Sony Bravia on. The TV will boot up to the initial setup screen.
