So, I was enjoying the surprising update to Oreo. Everything seemed to be working fine. Then I tried Google Play Movies. The movies play, I can hear sound effects, the score, but no dialogue (voices). I tried the cache and program data clearing, which did not work. I factory reset the Mibox twice (trying after each reset), and it still doesn't work.
Does anyone have any ideas?
This just started happening to me, but only on certain movies. Watched tomb raider and it worked fine, but watching ready player one, or infinity way, there is no dialogue. Another"fix" is watching through YouTube. Your purchases show up there also.
Yup, 5.1 audio is broken after the Oreo update and still not fixed. Xiaomi might fix it one day, they might not. Who knows at this point.
The sound issue is there system wide.

I feel sorry for you but this is one issue among a lot after the bad Oreo update . Nothing is stable . The sound might work randomly . There are lots of iuuses and o sincerely don't think they are going to sort this out .
If settings sound options don't fix it, try Vudu (my favorite) or Movies Anywhere. Both will show your Google Movies.
