Sorry for the noob question, I recently got my first Android TV (sony kd-49xf8505) and I'm having trouble reading some video files. Here are two examples:
-
My androidTV shuts down and restarts every time I try to read some .MKV files. It happens with 23 episodes of a TV show. Here are the informations about the encoding: "1080p 10bits AAC5.1 HEVC x265" I can read other MKV files just fine, but those make my AndroidTV crash every single time.
-
My AndroidTV is displaying green gibberish mosaic patterns when I try to watch a 43GB 4k video. Here are the informations about the encoding: "4K HDR10bits BT2020 DTS HD-MA VISIONPLUS HDR1000"
I initially thought that it was a network problem, that my bandwidth wasn't good enough... But other 4k videos run smoothly, and I've tried reading both the files with VLC, Kodi, casting to Chromecast, even reading them directly from an attached USB drive: the problems still happen.
Could someone help me find the cause of these problems ?
Thank you for your time!
Videos are too high bitrate or encoded for the weak processor in your tv to decode.
