This explains a lot
This explains a lot, we need someone who can send death threats to app makers so I don't have to deal with garbage side loaded phone apps that don't support mouse or remote inputs properly.
"The new Android TV Oreo experience"
While I don't think Android TV really gets much out of Android Pie, I do want to denote the irony in them putting this video out the same day that the new version of android was officially released...
Turned it off about three minutes in. Such bullshit.
They didn't need to ruin the whole home screen by turning everything into channels, they simply needed to force app developers to use Live Channels to organize their content in a single place as channels. Yes, people want channels but they want them so they can see what's out there and pick what to watch from all their options. What Alphabet has chosen to deliver instead of that is a spoon-fed model where they push what they think we should want to watch.
It's the trending section of Youtube writ large.
I thought it was Sascha Prüter.
Google don't even provide usable simulator for the TV platform. Some of their own frameworks are not supported on that platform. The available devices usually have a lot of technical issues with Oreo. Neighter developers nor users are in focus of usability. And for the worst, because of the terrible naming most of the userers doesn't even know about AndroidTv, they think it is a tablet android on a TV and doesn't understand the differencies. And some other namings are also not helping... youtubetv is the youtube for androidtv or the live tv service on youtube? I know the answer, but none of the useres will do.
Great asset to Android TV, excited to see where she takes it!
I was half expecting to see a photo of an empty chair.
