Trying to setup a mi box 3 for my inlaws - they aren't very tech savvy.

Hi,

Nice to meet you all.

I've tried downloading moviebox and showbox to the android TV, they just have a bunch of ads and are unreliable. I just thought it'd be nice as it is fairly easy to navigate.

I tried Kodi with Neptune and they don't really understand how to click through the sources to find the best source that won't lag or just freeze kodi itself.

I even tried running a plex server or emby server from my place...

Is there anything simpler? They've done so much for me and now they're retired, I want to do this for them.

Thanks

For TV, try Sling, Vue (my favorite), YouTubeTV, etc.

Movies can be done with Google Movies or Vudu (free movies too and not bad with the ads on those).

Netflix is there of course, and you can sideload Amazon Prime Videos.

Depending on what they paid for Cable, Vue (for example) and Netflix combined can be cheaper than cable alone.

If you are looking for free, you won't find anything easy for non-technical savvy people and it won't be reliable. But you can save them money.

Not without paying. Piracy is not meant for good UX.

Morpheus Tv no ads

Kincadium

Pluto tv should help them out a bit.

Haystack is sort of like Pluto, just a little more condensed. See if they would like that.

I've been loading Chinese boxes with Kodi (titanium build), Showbox, mobdro, Morpheus, and Terrarium. Redundancies, to be sure, but when one app fails there are other options. The kodi build is... Clunky, but it's the last resort app.

OP if you roll with: kodi, teriaum tv, etc. Get account with Real debrid
