Remap android TV remote button possible? (Sony Bravia XE9005)

I dont watch cable on the TV but i frequently change input sources (HDMI). is there a way to reprogram my remote's button to say, number pad 1,2,3,4 to HDMI 1,2,3,4 respectively?

yes.

use Button mapper and HTTP Request Shortcut (need sideloading) combo.

  • enable Pre-Shared Key network authentication (Settings - Network - Home Network setup - IP control). i use 0000
  • create HTTP shortcuts like this . adjust tv IP address, X-Auth-PSK, and hdmi port num accordingly.
  • use Button mapper, map a button to execute that shortcut.

This is fantastic, I used Button Mapper as recommended by Farhanito to map the "." button on the remote to mute the sound on the ChannelMaster AndroidTV dvr. It's super annoying they didn't include a mute button. Weird thing is it uses the Android volume control to mute instead of muting the sound through the TV, but close enough.
