The hand on the packaging was tripping me up for a while.
The video text says it is not something that he will be recommending. Interesting.
To me it looks like it's equivalent to the Mibox hardware-wise. I have the M8S Pro W, which is slow and doesn't support Chromecast or very many other DRM things besides Widevine L1.
If this is the same, good riddance.
I read alot of threads that say it has issues playing netflix even in HD, thats a bummer.
In its current form this device still needs Netflx Aproval to allow Android TV Netflix streaming. Hopefully that eventuates.
The one big advantage this KM8 device has over the Mi Box is its ability to dual boot and run the excellent LibreELEC Kodi Krypton. It will literally play anything you throw at it then with the correct auto output frame rates, auto SDR / HDR color and auto resolution.
He has a review of an older version from the same company a couple months ago, it wasn't real Android TV because it didn't support chromecast. This one is unlikely to as well, let alone the zero odds of getting Netflix.
Amlogic S905X chip. That's the same as the Mi Box?
