Anyone think ADT-2 will become a new Android TV Device?

by 8bitInventor

With Nexus Players dying left and right the past few months, Shield TV being relatively over priced, and the MiBox having its own issues, I'm really crossing my fingers for something new from Google. I have the Shield Pro in my living room, and it's great, but I'd like something in the $100 price point for other rooms in the house.

Has anyone heard any rumors about a production release of ADT-2? Maybe during the Pixel 3 announcement?

They won't sell the ADT-2, no.

Why, there is the Mi Box already, which has the same specs. (Except 9.0). Xiaomi is releasing a new Mi Box in the coming months. The actual one is cheap and on Oreo already.

They made a collaboration with JBL for the Link Bar.

I applied for one of the ADT2's, I doubt it will ever be released to the consumer

The Shield is a fucking BARGAIN for what you get.

That said, the ADT-1 was the precursor to the Nexus Player, so I do not doubt at all that we'll see a Google-branded mass market Android TV dongle available next year or sooner.
