How to use Computer to Configure Android TV

by Kalenden

I'm on a Windows Laptop and I have a Sony Bravia TV with integrated Android TV.

I find configuring and controlling (especially typing) on the TV through a remote cumbersome. Is there some way to mirror the TV display to my laptop and control/configure it from there?

I can't answer your main question but I wanted to check if you are aware of the Android TV remote app for mobile, it allows you to type on the app itself making typing much easier.

If you have a keyboard/mouse that uses USB, you can plug that USB into the Shield and use the mouse & kb there...just change back when done.

Hope that helps.

I think there is no way we can mirror TV display to Computer, but the inverse is possible. As davidherron told, it's better to use Android TV Remote App. TV remote control app for smartphones and tablets Video & TV "SideView" from Sony is better option. Here is the Google Play Store Link to the app.

Use the Android TV app to type on your phone, or plug in a keyboard, or use voice-to-text input.
