Bought a couple for living and bedroom.

It's awesome. Just using to stream content now.

Super stable. No crashing or freezing. If you're on the fence don't be. This is an awesome little Android htpc at a great price.

Also the game controller bundle is also on sale for $179.99 (the original price of the streaming bundle).

It's only $20 off. But if you're thinking about gaming even a little bit, or want always listening Google Assistant, it's cheaper than buying the streaming bundle and adding a controller later. The controller by itself retails for $60, and I don't think I've ever seen the controller go on sale.

Edit: Amazon has the same price for the controller edition. But not on the one without the controller. https://www.amazon.com/NVIDIA-SHIELD-Streaming-Player-Controller/dp/B01N1NT9Y6?crid=AINDDPS7JGVE

I'm waiting for the Android TV JBL Soundbar since but I may end up getting another Nvidia Shield TV as maybe it's a good idea to have a separate soundbar and streamer box. If the OS on the JBL soundbar becomes obsolete/no longer supported, I wouldn't have to upgrade the whole soundbar. Soundbars are one of those things I feel will have a longer shelf life.

Excellent, just bought one a few weeks ago and they are price matching it.

In for one. Thanks for the heads up

Picked one up because of this post! Nexus Player was feeling long underpowered and this baby feels so much better to use.

Got one, thanks!

Will the Nvidia Shield still allow access to apps when the connection to the internet is disrupted? For me, I have a HDHomeRun TV tuner attached to the network.

On the FireTV Gen 2, Amazon prevents you from accessing apps when the internet service is disrupted.

I would still like to watch OTA TV when comcast disrupts my internet service.

Got it... Own one already and a couple of MiBoxes that have been absconded for other TV's. This one is mine lol.

The one I got in 2015 has been rock solid and updated frequently. No hesitation in getting one even though the hardware is old, handles everything we throw at it.

How does the Chromecast feature work on this? Do you have to enable it first to prime it like on some streamers (roku) or does it just come in straight away like a normal Chromecast?

I'm almost considering getting one even though my TV has Android TV, but it works decently. It's a bit slow and doesn't have the latest version.

I'm rocking a Bravia KDL-55W808C with N.

What would you say regarding getting a Shield even though your TV has Android?

$140 great price. I was actually hoping NVIDIA would release a 3rd gen Shield TV this week along with all the new RTX cards.

This or wait for the new Mi Box? Only thing I care is streaming. Dolby Vision and stuff like that would be cool. CEC is a must for me.

I am also not in a rush since I will be travelling until October.

This is the same price it's been on Amazon warehouse deals for the past year.

Guess the new version will release soon
