MiBox - video stops playing when adjusting volume

Got a weird one - whenever there's a volume change on my receiver it seems like the MiBox gets confuzzled - video freezes, stops/quits.

  • receiver is a Sony, and TV is samsung
  • occurs on all apps netflix/prime/vlc/kodi
  • occurs both when i use the receiver's remote, or turn the physical volume knob on the receiver
  • i have installed the 2179 build in the hope of fixing it but yeah the problem also occurs on the latest public build

Is your MiBox connected to the receiver or TV? My devices (including MiBox) are connected to my Samsung 4K TV. My HEOS soundbar is paired to the TV via optical cable. I've yet to experience your problem.

My mom has a Sony receiver. Same things happens with her Nexus Player. Hers is caused by the "On Screen Display" for the receivers volume. It cannot display the OSD at 1080P so the video cuts out, switches to a different resolution, shows the OSD volume and switches back to the Nexus Player. Every damn time she changes the volume. Her Sony receiver doesn't have the option to turn off OSD but some models do so try that if you can. BTW her cable box is 1080i and that works just fine.

I've got an optical cable connected to a soundbar on my LG TV, I've never had it pause when I messed with the volume on the mibox remote. That's a bit strange.
